Over at my College Blog, I've written up a short post on the FAFSA.  Its important that students sign up for this one early, because a lot of time the money will run out before everyone who qualifies gets a check. 

There are a lot of calculations and not everyone will be eligible for assistance, but its worth doing because even if you don't get federal aid you can use the results of the application to speed up your requests for private scholarship funds.
