I am going to MIT soon and I would like to make new friends. Please help me by suggesting ways to meet people.

Hey, welcome to the board!

I would say that the best way to meet friends on campus is to simply get involved and be active with the groups and events that are of interest to you.  If you're in to politics, find out about student government.  If you like to write, find something you can do with the newspaper.  For just about any hobby, there's probably already an organized community on campus that would be happy to have your contributions - and you'll be constantly surrounded by people who share your interests.   Grin

Making friend is very important in abroad.Man is social being and he cant live along,so,,for your survival you need friends,,to make new friend at first you have to approach with your confidence, treat like friendly to them and try to know what they like and dislike,,this would be help you to lasting your friendship with them. By participating in school activities, asking questions/starting a conversation with the person next to you. Try to be upbeat and positive and friendly.

Before you go to MIT you can get yourself acquainted by using social networking sites and one you get there you can attend sports events and special gatherings, or can also study in groups.
